July 7 2024 Koa Shola Yoga, and bike ride in sanur

I did a bike ride this afternoon.  I went to where my class will be for the next week.  It is about a 20 minutes walk or a ten minute bike ride.  There are a lot of small narrow streets, paths that are wide enough for one scooter to go through, and a section that even scooters avoid because it is so rocky and dirty, but it is the shortest path.  The hard part is crossing the major highway.  It took me several minutes to get safely across.
I wanted to check out a yoga studio.  I went back towards my hotel. There is a beautiful spa and yoga studio.  The class was at 5 so I went to the beach, stopped at a Swedish restaurant where the fika included Indonesia home made noddle with a really spicy sauce.

The teacher at the studio was named Bernie.  She asked if I had ever done yoga before.  I said I had a little, and I don't have any problems with my body, but I have to modify balance positions.  There were a couple of German women in the class and I think Australian.  She did some things I am not used to doing.  It is interesting that we can get into a rut even with a yoga class.  She started and ended the class with the ringing of the gong. She gave me an extra bolster to keep my back straight, and a strap to stretch my legs. It was a good class.  I will go back.
These are the pictures from the beach.
