After having conversations with Kathleen about the unusual fitbit notification that I had received that day, I was able to see my doctor.  It seems like I have a bit of a flutter.   I was able to get cleaning done at the apartment and go on about my life.  It will be interesting to see what happens next.

September 5 2024 fumiko cooking

I spent entirely too much time looking at the places we are going to go next January.  I have decided that  a lot of the tours which are organized by Hal are probably not that great.  It would be better to get a taxi, and go to one place and hang out close by the ship instead of going every where in some small ass bus.

A walk in the morning to the bakery.  Nice pastries and coffee.  A  A random person who was ordering the largest and highest calorie item.  I wonder where it goes to.

August 31 2024 More yard work, beginning or an end

Image
More yard work.  This time with rock. I signed the extension for the renton lot.  It finally has a closing date.   I think it will  close, but right before we go off on another trip.  It is a beginning of an end, and also the opening of doors for tomorrow.

August 30 2024 hot pilates and yoga, and autobiography of a yogi, yard work

Image
More yard work, pilates.   A balanced day of work on the body, work for the household, and work on the soul.   The book, Autobiography of an Yogi has been very interesting. It describes his experiences with the divine.  I am not quite sure I believe it, but it is interesting that the ideas expressed in the book are found in very mainstream science fiction.

August 29 2024 Hot Pilates and more yard work

Hot Pilates  at noon, after cleaning up apartment, and before going to work on landscape project.   Again I was tired.   Jorge arrived late that night.  We stayed up a bit and drank some wine.  It is nice getting caught up with his adventures.

August 28 2024 Walk along the beach and looking at old photos

Image
Lots of people bird watching today.  We saw some birds  We took a long walk on the beach.  The beaches  I found this small picture in a small frame of us at our wedding.  I didn't remember fumiko putting it in the frame, but I remember the picture and the time.  Fumiko was barefoot and pregnant.  I would like to recreate this photo today.  We should look as happy now was we did then.

Portland Loo in Oak Harbor  The Airplane museum in oak harbor  It is a utility cover, not a manhole cover.  Fumiko has been taking pictures of manhole covers of interesting design.  I am not sure about the facebook career.  Nice sculpture in the park at the sewer plant.  Bad ramen at a teriyaki shop.  Remind me not to order ramen at a place that sells other things.  Only go to a shop that serves ramen.   Finally we recreated the picture of Jensen from  Supernatural.  I am an older man on a newer model impla.   This is the phot we were recreating

August 26 2024 Admissions meeting, Meeting with Westlake Hot Pilates and more yard work, leads to facebook time

Image
First think in the morning, I talked on the phone to the admissions.  I have decided to go forward.  I will  submit my application soon.  I will have the money to pay the school in September.  I will pay in October, and will start in November. I am looking forward to this.  I will be able to tell people that I am a student, and then a therapist when I complete it.  I don't like the title retired.  In the afternoon I wasted a some time talking with the guys from westlake. I am not sure if they did what they said they were going to do prior to the meeting.  I don't think I would hire them. It was interesting in some things they said.  They said that the prices are lower than tax assessment.  They said many buyers don't have the cash to come up to purchase something and need to get construction financing, they said there are a lot of owner operator buyers.  They basically said the opposite of what I understood.    I was so tired after exercise and working, I spent  a lot of

Early morning walk for coffee and chocolate croissant.   Followed up by yard work.  I picked the first round of prunes and got them ready for eating Dancing at century.  I danced with Mia, who had not seen in several years.  I see her posts on facebook but not in person since PDX several years ago.

August 24 2024 Yoga, landscaping, and dance, Eat, Pray Love book

Image
Nice Japanese breakfast prepared by fumiko.  Yoga in the morning and then landscaping at Marvista.  I was almost too tired to go dancing, but  I decided to to the Swing SCT.  It was a pretty fun night.  I danced with several people I haven't seen in a while.    I have been listing to the book Eat, Pray Love.  I should have listened to this prior to going to Bali, but since I  am still processing those thoughts in my mind it is good to listen now.  I was struck by how the women at Bali trees had all read the book.  In someway they were looking for some spiritual release from their life's issues.  One reason we all went to the see the Shaman.  When the book was written, the writer though being in mid 30s is old, and an older attractive man is in his fifties.  It seems like I was in a situation where the women were in their 40s and I was the older man in his sixties.  Funny.  I really wasn't there to find anyone, just to focus on exercise, sleep, and moderate food.  The conv
