August 7 2024 Wood Grilling, Ft Casey

I decided that I wanted to really learn how to  grill with wood.  This is my newest attempt to get the wood and the coals right. I  am waiting  for the fire to die down.  I find that it may be beneficial to have a fire on one side of the grill to keep the heat up in the grill, while the cooking coals are low to prevent burning. 

We went to Ft Casey.  The switchboard was open today.  I really think this is a cool spooky room.  The  first time I went in, I didn't have a light.  Walking in the one person passage around the outside of the interior room, which used to be the switchboard is always a good way to get your blood running.
