homeless in Seattle

On our afternoon walk we saw a some areas where people are camping in tents and vehicles.  At one time people who needed a place to live could couch surf with someone or get a really cheap room in a house or single room hotel with a shared shower.  Those places don't exist anymore. Society has made it hard for those places to exist and has become more forgiving of people living in cars or camping.  It seem like if someone can't manage a nice place,then there are not many bad plans that are available to live, so off to the street. So why not build more?  Yes that helps a bit, but first people who have had the freedom of doing whatever they want, and living very cheaply have a hard time changing.  In fact a lot of people have a hard time changing.
